This book is definitely right up my alley as far as genre's go. The beginning was sort of bland for me, I just couldn't get into it for the longest time. Maybe it was because I was distracted by other reads.

Anyways, the book did end up becoming more interesting and compelling to me. A book within a book, a new concept to me. I would definitely read another book by this author. ( )

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Initially I thought it sounded a little predictable but I was interested in how the author would develop the story.

At the beginning I found myself a little lost in which story I was reading but after a few chapters, I got the hang of it. I did take time to stop on occasion and straighten out the order of each of the sub-stories in the book.

Although I was confused a few times, I thought this was an interesting way to present this book. It allowed the suspense level to stay elevated throughout the story.

I will say that I had this book in the e-book version and I believe that I would not have enjoyed the suspense of the book if it had been the paperback version. There is something about reading an e-book about a haunted e-book.

I would definitely check out another J.L. Bryan book in the future. ( )

I am not a big fan of horror books so I think some of the nuances were lost on me. I liked the concept of a book within a book with in a book, It was a little freaky to be reading an ebook about an ebook about ebook. (A novel idea). The blood and gore I found to be a bit much, but I am not used to reading this type of book. ( )

I am happy to support J L Bryan with the release of his newest publication, The Haunted E-book. Jeff is currently promoting his new novel with a book blog tour, offering fabulous prizes including print and eformat copies of The Haunted E-book, The Haunted Library and a Kindle WiFi. You will have an opportunity to enter for several prizes both today and tomorrow on Book’d Out.Jenny Pox, published last year, has been a hit with a rare cross appeal offering something for both the mature and young adult reader and an impressive, well written story. When I interviewed Jeff last year about his book, he hinted that he was finishing up a horror story about a haunted E-book. With such an intriguing idea, and confident in Bryan’s skill, I was looking forward to its release. The Haunted E-book is placed more firmly in the horror genre. Bryan twists an innocuous Kindle into an instrument of terror wielded by the soul of a psychotic print press operator. The plot is intricate as it weaves story within story, while pulling the reader into a journey of disturbing violence and spine tingling dread. There are intriging twists, creating an uncomfortable rhythm that heightens the tension as the characters are unwittingly trapped in a nightmarish plot. I thought Bryan’s explantion for the haunting was particularly creative, and as creepy as hell. The climax ties all the threads together in a satisfying manner and I doubt you will ever be able to look at your e-reader the same way again.Visit my blog at www.bookdout.wordpress.com ( )

First off let me say this book is available on paperback, but come on, you have to read it electronically to get the full fear-factor!

This book will take you on a ride. It jumps around with stories, within stories within stories. It's a mirrored effect of people reading about people reading the book. Dee is the main character, living in a small town with a loser boyfriend. She works as a librarian but is held back by a mixture of her color and being an outsider in town. She moved there because of a...very good friend of hers who died there.

So she downloads this e-book and it takes over her life. The ghost in the book is all about murder and having his story be read. We move onto 4 other readers, but 2 of them are very short lived. After her boyfriend is believed murdered, she runs to find the other readers, to try and stop him. She first teams up with Elaine where she finds one of the original haunted books, The Story of Annabelle, and then she finds Madison. Will they finally stop him before it's too late?

It does jump around but it isn't hard to follow. He plays with fonts and bold to show different chapters, if it's the regular chapter or the inside chapters. If you like a scary story, then download this bad-boy and leave the lights on.

A modern day slasher horror movie, The Haunted E-book is an interesting read with complex character build-up and plot development. True to its nature, you can't somehow put it down.
