This is an excellent book in that it gives insight into how the soul advances in God. It actually gives descriptive information as to the stages of thoughts and motivations of the person moving from one stage of grace to the next. It also provides great insights on how to pray. Its orientation is on that of contemplative prayer sometimes referred to as mental prayer. (
