John Colleton, the pseudonym of Robert Walter Marks, wrote about a dozen highly atmospheric novels set mostly in Charleston, South Carolina, where he died in 1993. Perhaps their ethereal tone and laid back love-making are an acquired taste, but they are delightfully redolent of warm lazy days of sexual intrigue. ‘On Or About The First Day In June’ deals with a period in which Colleton’s usual narrator, Bill Benton, finds himself without the company of his principal bed companions, Amy and Cloris, and thus able to undertake the defloration and erotic education of two sisters, Elza and June. Bill employs the pair as photographic models for photo shoots in Charleston which lead not to a mere book but to one of Cloris’ art movies. The two girls graduate from his tutelage, leaving him once again to support his more established love triangle. ( ) Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
