Frank Morgan is reluctantly on the hunt again. Frank has tried to hang up his guns and live in peace, but men just won’t leave him alone. Now, the hunt is about to begin again for revenge of losing the only woman that Frank ever loved in a gun battle, just when love between Vivian and Frank was once again blossoming.
Frank sets out to hunt down two men responsible for the pain he bears, Vic and Ned. These two men have many other killers who ride with them, but Frank doesn’t care, he’ll take them on alone. Frank is used to doing life alone. When Frank heads into the high mountains in search of Ghost Valley and Ned’s gang, he begins to think he is seeing things. Frank even believes these “ghosts” speak to him; they leave no trail but dead men.
What Frank doesn’t know is that while he thinks his son Conrad is safely back in town, Conrad isn’t. In fact, Conrad is always moments away from biting the bullet. Will Conrad come out of this alive and more of a man than before? Or will Conrad just reject his gunfighting father all over again? To Frank though it doesn’t matter, he will do whatever he has to protect his son and take out the men who killed his only love.
Once again mount up and enjoy the ride in the Last Gunfighter tale of Ghost Valley. The first two novels in the series are titled, The Drifter and Reprisal. While readers can enjoy the books as a stand-alone, I am enjoying reading the books in order. I find that the story line captures my attention better and the characters develop a little more through each book. Be aware that there is cursing in the book, but I just ignored it and enjoyed the tension that is very palpable in the tale.
Grab a book and ride to the hard Johnstone country for exciting tales of the old west!
