The central message in the story is to take care of the environment, recycle. I liked reading this story because of the topic discussed in the story. Recycling and going green is something people should be aware of. Therefore, I think this book gives readers a great insight about how they can help the environment. In addition, I liked this story because of the illustrations. Each page really added to the story and helps increase comprehension. Especially, if a reader is not familiar with the topic. Lastly, I liked this book because at the end, instructions are provided on how to make an actual cloth bag. Students can read the story, and learn about Gabby’s project, and participate in their own project by making cloth bags of their own. I think it’s a great way to end a lesson about going green, by allowing students to make their own cloth bag. ( )

A bright, happy story with a sensible, environmentally conscious theme. A good one to pull out for Earth Day. ( )
