It didn't catch my interest as much as others have. One thing I really liked was the illustrations and the alligator. Living in Louisiana I thought it would be a good book to share before going on a sawmp tour with a class before seeing some alligators. ( ) Bill is a crocodile who lives on the Nile with his best buddy, a bird named Pete. When Bill's cousin gets nabbed by a poacher the two head to Louisiana to rescue her. The story is cute and very unsophisticated. I can see some 3rd graders being a little bored with the story line but, I think it would appeal to many preschoolers and kindergarteners. The illustrations are very colorful with a lot of things to describe and discuss. Bill (a Nile Crocodile) and his friend Pete (a bird) are off to save cousin Jane from The Bad Guy's brother before he turns her into a suitcase like his dad. They venture all the way to New Orleans and all the bayou alligators come together to help Bill find his cousin. They did and found Bill's dad too! I really enjoyed reading, "Bill and Pete To The Rescue." I would read this book to second or third graders. The book is about crocodiles on the bank of the Nile. A big bad man came and capture crocodiles to use them in a pet show and then make a suit case out of them. The little crocodile Bill had enough of this and he went to set the other crocodiles free. He traveled from the Nile all the way to the Decatur Bayou in Louisiana. There he met many great alligators who wanted to help him capture the bad man. So they set out to find the bad man and they did. The crocodile and his other family returned back to the Nile, and Bill was the hero. I thought this was a great book. It can teach children about never giving up and team work. The book also has some educational aspects, like talking about the different places and different crocodiles. I would reccomend this book to any teacher. Summary: Bill the crocodile and his toothbrush, Pete the plover, set out to save Bill's cousin, who has been captured along with other endangered animals and taken from Egypt to the Bad Guy's Big Bad Brother's Exotic Animal Farm near New Orleans, Louisiana. Genre: Fantasy Critique: This is a good example of fantasy because the crocodiles and birds are kindly interacting with humans and talking with each other. Setting: Takes place in Louisiana, near New Orleans. Media: Unspecified Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
