I haven't read it yet (I'm waiting for my friend to finish so I can read his copy) but I just want to put down my thoughts so a can reflect after I read it. So don't ruin it for me by spoiler comments!

The first three books were really good so If the last one isnt better, the whole entire cycle is RUINED. It's the grand finally so it better be amazing!

I want the green dragon to be ayra's then Eragon and Ayra would be immortal together and she's a shadeslayer so she deserves it but I'd be cool with elva being the new rider.

I think nausada should become queen cause that surda king wasn't to good and she just has that natural leading ability, she's human but has good relationships with the other races and Roran just wants to go home so he wouldn't be king.

Eragon's fortune said he'd leave Algeisia forever so he better leave with ayra or whoever becomes the next rider cause he has to teach them the mystical dragon rider 101 class.

Ahhhh!!! I read this a good while ago and didn't realize I didn't review it! It was just as good as the other 3: a lot of suspense, awesome magic shtuff, intense were cats, some mystical dragon stuff and secret places 'ooo' and one way or another the war is over! I liked that Roran almost dis in he vey beginning. It put me on edge do the rest of the book cause anything could happen! I didn't like the sudden oh 'hey there's a secret place with a bajillion eldunari you can have' part. The author backed himself into a corner with the way he built up galbratorix into this mastermind evil Dagon Rider. There was no possible way that Eragon could beat him! So naturally, Eragon follows solabum's advice from the first book, finds dragon heart-of-hearts AND dragon eggs. That didn't really help them win at all which was goo I really liked the book except for Galbratorix's ending. It was SO simple! All Eragon did was use magic to make him understand!!! ANYONE could have done that, he's not special or a Hero (in my opinion), he was about to die! ( )

I thought it was a great book. I like how I can picture what everyone will be up to. There is no major cliff hanger. Some things unanswered and plenty to ponder on.

Author comment on the ending from the above link: "I wrote the ending that I felt was appropriate for the world and the characters. To do anything else would have fractured the internal logic of the series. If I had forced Eragon and Arya together, it would have fulfilled Eragon's hopes but broken Arya's character. What you have to keep in mind is that even though Inheritance is the end of this series, it is not the end of the world of Alagaësia; Eragon and Arya's story will continue. They are going to live for a very long time, and their relationship is far from over"

Good ending to a great series. Though I'll have to say that the book doesn't live up to its expectations and Brisingr still remains my favorite book in the series.
Didn't like the ending too much. The ending looked a lot similar to that of LOTR. Besides Arya and her dragon's story was very abrupt and not upto the mark. But still I'll have to say love the way Galbatorix meets his end.
In all, I'll say the overall series was still very good and fun to read. ( )

Nasuada is leading the Varden against Galbatorix and the Empire, accompanied by her two heroes: Eragon (and Saphira) and Roran. Things seem to be proceeding well until disaster strikes and she is kidnapped by Murtagh and Thorn. Eragon is fearful that he does not have the strength to battle Galbatorix and sets off to find help, at the behest of the werecat, Solembum under the guidnace of the dragon spirit, Glaedr. Arya plays her usual important role, and her relationship with Eragon progresses, but her elven roots continue to interfere. I liked it. ( )

Some seven years ago, an exited little girl rushed into the bookstore and saw a big big book with a beautiful blue dragon on the cover and even though her mother refused to get it for her, she sped to the library the first chance she got and picked up "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini.

I have read the first book 24 times to date- I considered myself the biggest fan; you see I was little and had no standards for books, thus the dragons and the adventures gripped me as I was a lover of fantasy then as much as I am now.

By no means was this book great. By little means was it good. The only reason it made me feel something was because of pure nostalgia and the memories of the nine year old that was so awed by the vast world Paolini had created.

For most of the book, I was counting pages until the end, wishing that said end would come sooner. When I saw that there were a hundred pages left after Galbatorix was defeated, I groaned in agony. Tying up loose ends took too long; a hundred pages was, obviously, an excess. The only thing that would have made the hundred pages bearable was if Saphira had brought Brom back to life. I loved Brom's character and a part of me thinks he's what made the first book so amazing for me.

As well as I have qualms with how convenient the dragons' magic is. Saphira was entirely okay with making a promise of fixing the Star Sapphire for the Dwarves, despite knowing the limitations of her magic, however when Eragon asked her to bring Brom back, she was suddenly reminded of them, throwing the excuse of her magic being unpredictable into the air. Umm.. right.

More so, when Eragon visited Carvahall, he made no attempt to visit Garrow's grave. Why? Garrow was much more of a father to him than Brom.

There is more I could blame the book for... The bland characters, the annoying describing of everything, but that has all been said in many many reviews of this series.

Yet despite everything... when I closed the book, I felt as if I closed my childhood with it and set it away on my bookshelf for good. Seven long years and I finally finished the Inheritance Cycle. I grew up with this series- no, the series raised me and to have it end... I feel oddly alone.

For me, I don't think any book or series can replicate what Eragon meant, and still means, to me. So, Inheritance, I'll give you five stars. Not because you were worthy of them because of how you were written or because of your characters, but because you, as well as Eragon, Eldest and Brisingr, were a home to me.

And I thank you for that. ( )
