Love this true story about snowflake Bentley. He discovers SO MANY truths about the intricacies of snowflakes. He photographed them throughout his life and sold his photographs. He studied the science behind snowflakes for years! he unfortunately died of pneumonia after trudging through a FREEZING snow storm. ( )

What a wonderful read!
This book follows the life of Wilson Bentley, a young buy who loved snow so much that he spends his whole life trying to capture its beauty.
Wilson comes from a working family who doesnt have much money. But he makes the best of it. During the winter, Wilson spends his time admirring the snow fall. Eventually Wilson decides that eveyione needs to see the beauty in the snow. He starts out by trying to draw the snowflakes, but they melt before he is done looking at them. When he was 16, he found this camera that he knew he would be able to use to take pictuers of the snowflakes. His parents used their whole savings to buy this camera. That next winter, Wilson spents everyday catching snowflakes and taking their pictuers.
Wilson knew that what he had was a gift! He decided to share his work with the world. He put all the pictyers in a book so eveyone could see! While Wilson did not makue much money in doing this, he didnt care. He just wanted to show the world the beauty that was snow! ( )

I enjoyed reading this book. It tells the story of a young boy who loves snowflakes. Every winter when it snows, he tries to draw the snowflakes but they melt before he is able to finish the drawing. When the camera is invented, he is able to capture the image of the snow before it melts. I really liked how on many pages on the sides of the page, the author includes additional information about Willie. ( )

Since Wilson Bentley was a young boy he loved snow. He loved to study and look at it to see the different patterns and he was fascinated by snowflakes. He did his best to take pictures and study them. When his parents gave him a very expensive magnification camera, Bentley really started a deep interest of his study of snowflakes. He is now a talented photographer that shows the world how great the tiny ice crystals really are. I definitely would recommend this inspiring book this illustrations are beautiful. ( )
