It was an interesting though certainly not an original book. It was well written and the flow was fairly smooth though not as all encompassing as I had expected. I'm a little disappointed to see it is going to be a series because I was really hoping to see the conclusion in this one volume. For a book that is going to be a series I would have expected the conclusion of this novel to have been slightly different, I didn't think that the reunion should have been so swift considering that. I enjoyed it though and will likely read the next book. ( )

This book is fun. It's not complicated, it's not deep, and it's a bit predictable, but it was still an enjoyable read. There were a few annoying plot bits, but I was able to overlook them and I'll probably read the next one. ( )

Lots of reviews are comparing this to the Hunger Games. My reaction to this book was kind of similar. I couldn't put it down because the plot is completely gripping, but when it was done I wasn't sure if I could say I liked it or not. It raises a lot of questions, so it would be a great book to generate discussion. I tend to love a book with characters that are well developed, and Glow introduces the characters in such a complex way that it's impossible to know yet how I feel about them - I'll have to read the second book to decide whether or not I'm going to love this series.
