NCLA Review -If you are a writer and you want to be able to pray as a discipline, then this might be the book for you. Each day the author offers a thought, a poem, sometimes a paraphrase of Scripture, a statement about God and a Scripture reading. Under the reading there is a prompt to help you think and write down a prayer, so essentially you are creating a prayer journal. As I began to work through the book, I realized that I didn’t feel inspired to write prayers. I was interested in her poetry and thoughts on Scripture, but I didn’t feel the need to put pen to paper about it. I wanted a little more input from the author about her feelings or prompts to explore our feelings. An interesting concept, but it didn’t speak to me or encourage me to write. Rating: 2 —CSP ( )
