I'm not a golfer and know nothing about the game but wanted to read this book anyway. A true indicator of a good author is if they can help someone to understand a concept they have no knowledge of and Ms. Myers does just that here. She draws good analogies between golf and business making the book an easy and entertaining read. I truly enjoyed it! ( )
A really great read that combines the authors love of golf to practical applications for everyday life. I especially liked how the author included a glossary in the book and she really did explain the golf terminology in simple terms. ( )
Even as a non-golfer I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found many of the analogies both relevant and insightful to today's business world. I too look forward to the next book in the series. ( )
I started reading this book as a skeptic. Using golf as an analogy for business success just didn't seem like something that would keep my interest. Flipping through the book, I got the same impression.
However, as I started actually reading, I found myself enjoying the book. As an unemployed student reading the pages before me, I found many of her tips useful and easy to implement. This book is only a beginning to her plan though. I happily await the next book in the series.
(I will be posting a more thorough review on my blog: http://dft.ba/-1iqT ) ( )

Today’s workplace requires a new way of thinking. The challenges faced are two-fold: how to self-improve and succeed, and how to thrive through tough economic times. The motivated, “change-ready“ employees and employers lead the way. They dig in, rebuild, and feed the recovery process.
Times of uncertainty breed courage, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovation. There is an urgency to make a difference—there is a need to step up!

There is a painting hanging on the wall in one of the bedrooms in our house. We bought it for my dad when he retired. An old man with scruffy gray hair and stubble on his face is leaning back in an old fishing boat not far from shore. Across from him sits a young boy that we assume must be a grandson. They are fishing. The sun is brilliant and bouncing off the ripples in the water. As the young boy eagerly stares at the point where his fishing line disappears in the water, the old man looks on and smiles gently.
