Diann Mills has created a cast of characters that pull you into their story. This book is full of action, mystery and a love story and will keep you glued to the pages until the very end. I really enjoyed this book, sometimes I found it to be a little predictable with who was behind everything, as well as the ending not being as strong as I would have hoped for, the book also left you wishing for more back story on some of the characters, throughout the book you are given glimpses but not enough to really understand some of the characters motives. I still enjoyed the story and think it is worth checking out next time you are in search of a good book. ( )

When the opportunity arose for me to review this book, I jumped on it. I've read historical romances by author Diann Mills and looked forward to reading a contemporary suspense by her. She did not disappoint in Attracted to Fire. The suspense and action of the story kept things moving and I enjoyed the relationship growth between Meghan and Ash. The combination of romance and suspense was perfect. I'll definitely be reading Attracted to Fire again in the future.

NCLA Review: This novel is set in the present time. The vice president’s daughter, strung out on drugs, has become an embarrassment to her father and has received a death threat from an unknown source. The decision is made to move her to a remote ranch in Texas with a therapist and secret service agents to protect her. One woman agent is included in the detail. Special Agent in Charge Ash Zinders has a reputation for being demanding and exacting. He doesn’t like women and believes they have no place in the secret service. When the president dies and the vice president takes his place, the stakes are even higher. All of these elements should combine to make this a great read. However, the plot involving the romance is predictable, the characters are one-dimensional, and the reader knows far too soon who is behind the threat. This is a romance novel with a little suspense and scattered references to the characters’ faith. Rating: 2 —AMB ( )

I have to say that when I began this book, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to like it. I like mysteries and spy novels to a degree, but this just didn't seem like my kind of book. I was not taken with the main agent--Ash. I guess Meghan was okay, but the story did not interest me.

After about page 75, something changed for me. I'm not sure why, but I suddenly cared about the characters. The relationship between Ash and Meghan was very well done. And I actually cared about what happened to Lindsay and the president. And although I figured out some parts of the story, I didn't know everything that would happen. I hated to put the story down!

I appreciated the way that the gospel message was so expertly woven into this story. I get tired of Christian books that force the gospel message. I generally mark those books down. The gospel message was presented in such a real way. And although the ending may not have been realistic, I was glad it ended as it did!

If you like spy novels with a plot that has lots of twists and turns, this book is for you. Even for those who do not appreciate the gospel message, this is a book for you. The gospel message is not presented in an offensive way at all. The characterization and action are well-developed and enjoyable to say the least. I also appreciate the short chapters. Books with short chapters keep the action flowing so well. I look forward to reading more books by this author!
