It's a great book to relay a message about it being okay to not be perfect and make mistakes. It can be realistic to a child that tries to never make mistakes or let their parents down. ( )

As a perfectionist, Beatrice went through struggles of making sure everything is done just right. She feared making mistakes and in living her ‘perfect’ life, she missed out on fun activities like ice-skating with her friends. Throughout the book, there are moments where I can tell that Beatrice battles with the pressures of being perfect and the anxiety that’s occasionally looming over her. toward the end of the book Beatrice got on stage and everything was going well until she realized she brought her pepper shaker instead of her salt shaker and her pet sneezes. She made a mistake but laughs, and then realized that it was okay to make mistakes. This book showed me a humorous, gentle reminder that it is OK to not be perfect, and one mistake is not the end of the world. No one called Beatrice by her name - they just called her the girl who never made mistakes. Until she did...on stage, in front of everyone. How will she handle it? By laughing at herself, and loosening up a little.

this little girl in this book was very scared to make a mistake and she did everything to not make a mistake. but this will be a great book for children because it teaches them that it is okay to make a mistake. ( )

This is a story that is about a young girl that never made mistakes and is afraid of making a mistake, unlike her young brother who is known for making mistakes this book teaches children that it's okay to make mistakes.

Yes, this is a dread Lesson Learned book. But it’s told with humor and empathy, and has amiable and lively illustrations by the cartoonist Mark Pett. The result is a book many of today’s ultracompetitive mini-superhumans could use. True, the ending ties matters up a bit too neatly, perfectly even, but children in Beatrice will recognize common and imperfect emotions: embarrassment, earnestness, fear of rejection and the relief messiness brings.
