My brain knows it's the end of the series, but my heart feels like there should be more. ( ) after reading the first 2 i was quite looking forward to reading taken by storm, my first thoughts were that it would be about bryn struggling with being alpha and keeping her status, needless to say i was slightly put back by the storyline as it has very little to do with that at all. Heres the thing, everything that made the first two books good ie. The sarcasm the humor and the interesting story has all been scrapped in this book. Its all serous very predictible and all about who did it. Aside from the last six? Chapters most of the story was all about finding some raging killer which turns out to be a little bit of a surprise but the reader really needed it to keep reading. Overall a fair read the last few chapters were what made it good and although id read the next one i wont be rushing about to get hold of it like i have with the others. Taken by Storm presents new challenges to Bryn and her "pack." There is a new Rabid, and this one could be female, something unheard of in werewolf lore. Bryn fears that the Rabid could be Maddie, who has left Bryn's pack after the events surrounding the death of Lucas. When Bryn takes a group out to track Maddie, they find her as well as something they don't expect. Before the end of the book, werewolf politics again play a role with tragic consequences. Jennifer Lynn Barnes brings her characters full circle and her Raised by Wolves series to a close. Emotions run high in this book as characters have to make choices in which there is no good alternative. Even though I don't really care for werewolf stories, this series was exceptional - well worth the read! This book is incredibly epic. Suspenseful. Rife with mystery and pack politics and all those good things we’ve come to know and love from the first two books. DON’T READ THIS BOOK. Seriously. I wish I hadn’t read his book. In a couple days, or weeks, or months, after I’ve had time to cool down and get over the ending, I’ll understand why it happened and that, yes everything that happened made sense and had to happen and blah-di-blah-di-blah. But I will never, ever forgive this ending. So, Bryn, Caroline, Lake, Jed and Chase go on a quest to find and rescue Maddy. Before the big bad Shay gets to her. And, over the course of he book, they not only find her, but they find out she pregnant, and her baby is psychic and has the ability to somehow bring back he ghosts, or ‘shadows’ of dead wolves, if they were part of a boy-girl twin pair, it’s the boy who died and the girl twin is still alive. Yeah, I know, super-confusing. A bunch of ugly shit happens, they end up having to kill Samuel Wilson aka the ‘Rabid’ again, blah-di-blah-di-blah. Maddy is reclaimed as a part of Bryn’s pack, and we think that maybe we’re about to get a happy ending… But then it all goes to shit. Shay gets Maddy’s baby, and threatens to jus take the baby without Maddy, effectively killing said baby if Maddy doesn’t come with. Caroline shoots Shay and kills Shay’s second-in-command. Shay kills Jeb as retribution for getting shot, then kills Chase in exchange for his second-in-command. In case you didn’t hear me, he kills CHASE. Bryn goes all badass with the plan and in-yo-face-Shay!, but nothing makes up for death of Chase. Not in my mind. Nope. But, wait, there’s more injustice yet to come! So, Bryn, Lake, Caroline, Devon and their three pack periphials end up totally usurping Shay’s territory. Which as pretty cool and epic. Went quite a ways towards making p for Chase’s death. But then. Devon and Shay get into a fight to the death. Devon kills Shay. Shay’s pack is left Alpha-less. Devon as good as asks Bryn “Let me be their Alpha.” And Bryn, being ever-obliging as she is, lets him. And so, now we’ve lost Devon as well. F**k! (this is what I’ve been saying for the entire time) And then, the book ends with the thing that if it had just happened earlier could have prevented several thigns, including Chase’s death! Bryn getting attacked and turned into a werewolf by Callum. Oh, and btw, Callum orchestrated that whole thing to happen exactly the way it did. Fuck. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
