Baltimore, Maryland, is a city in alarming distress. Rising violence is fanning the flames of public outrage, and all law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, are catching blame. Thus the FBI's latest ideas to improve public relations: a municipal softball league and workshops for community leaders. But the new commitments just mean more time Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have to spend apart when they're happily exploring how to be more than by-the-book partners. Then the latest spate of crime explodes in their faces--literally--throwing the city, the Bureau, and Ty and Zane's volatile partnership both in and out of the office into chaos. They're hip-deep in trouble, trying to track down bombers and bank robbers in the dark with very few clues, and the only way to reach the light at the end of the tunnel together requires Ty and Zane to close their eyes and trust each other to the fiery end.… (més)

That was a fantastic 3rd read. This is the 4th book in the Cut & Run series, the character and relationship growth of Ty and Zane is amazing. The emotional connection and chemistry between these two oozes from page to page.

Zane.. Ohhh Swoon i love this man he is just amazing even though he takes long to utter the three little/big words, he shows with his action.

“First time I saw you, after I got over hating you, I knew,” he said, echoing Ty’s words, “I
knew I’d fall in love with you”

“He loved Ty Grady with all there was to give of his heart, and in the end, all it had taken
was one wink for Zane to finally come to terms with it.”

And the dance .. *Fans-Self* Ty is a hopeless romantic and i adore him, he loves Zane with everything he's got.

He’d thought about this, a slow dance with his lover, not a flashy tango or a writhing clash
under a disco ball. But he’d never dreamed he would get one. It was possibly one of the most
erotic, most loving things Ty had ever done for him.

The Sex was Hot as usual..

Nick...... well

just had to read it again. I Love Ty and Zane

“You’re not dessert, Zane. You’re the main course, Ty informed him in a husky drawl. And you have about five seconds to take your pick of flat surface before I do it for you.” ( )

Another fantastic book in this series. I'm definitely part of the Ty and Zane fanclub!

I feel tht I'm sounding like a gushing fangirl here lol, but I can't help it. I love these books. And this one has just confirmed for me what it is I love about the whole. Once again is a rollercoaster ride through action, emotion, suspence and uncertainty. These poor guys really can't catch a break!

In this book we also see the relationship between Ty and Zane truly start to grow. It becomes less about the physical and more about the emotional.

And the ending..... let's just say I'm glad I do look at reviews before I read because at least I was prepared... Not happy with it, but at least I knew what to expect. ( )

I was very nervous about this book. I mean, how good can the series stay after so many books? Well, my answer to that is SUPERBLY WONDERFUL! I felt that many of the reactions in this book were totally justified and I could understand pretty much all of the decisions and actions that occurred as these poor guys figure out what it means to love someone and have them love you back. It can be hard to count on someone when you have never really allowed that before-and these guys work that struggle brilliantly. LOVE this book! ( )

Mild spoilers below. However, I can argue it's abuse with elements of cheating (sucking face with an old friend while in a relationship) and therefore my review is a warning.

--------------

I can't help it. The more I read, the more it's bothering me: is Zane in an abusive relationship? I get that Ty, a boy wonder (he sings, he dances, he speaks Farsi, he ...I wouldn't be surprised if he macrames), is unpredictable, but he is very consistent where it comes to punishing Zane for one thing or another. Verbally, physically. Lash out first, think/talk/explain later. Scratch the think part. It never occurs to Ty that holding a drunk person under water may result in serious damage. It also never occurs to Ty that hitting a person with a fresh head injury in the jaw and sending him into a wall may also result in serious damage.

Ty is also needy and selfish. They've been together just a handful of months and Ty is already freaking out because Zane can't say the L word out loud.
- It doesn't matter that Zane loved his wife deeply, had wicked hard time after her death and is still grieving.
- It doesn't matter that every person functions at a different pace.
- It doesn't matter that Zane is more about showing his love rather than telling. Actually Zane did admit to Ty as much, just didn't use the L word itself.
- It doesn't matter that Zane cares and saves Ty's ass over and over again.
None if it apparently counts in Ty's mind.

To me, Ty comes off as a selfish abusive insecure jerk. Who, by the way, was sucking face with Nick right after their conversation about how Ty wasn't sure about Zane being monogamous. He dismisses Zane at almost every turn yet still expects iloveyous from him. The prick. Ty, not Zane.

Maybe it's because I am not into sex scenes. I skip those. And so the rest of it, the out-of-bed relationship, is in. my. face.

I can continue on about this mess of the series, but the list is too long. The bottom line tho, I am now convinced that all the characters in these books are jumping through the hoops to accommodate the authors, although some to lesser degree than others. That's never a good thing and therefore I am done with this series. However, I will re-read [b:Warrior's Cross|6782412|Warrior's Cross|Madeleine Urban|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1355864076s/6782412.jpg|6916543] if only to compare my own notes from 5 years ago.

PS I was just cheering for Zane when he slogged Ty, but dammit, what a disappointment it was when he started grovelling right after it.

Like I said, DONE. ( )

The first book I read in this series...[Sticks & Stones] was loaned to me when I ran out of reading material a few weeks ago. My good friend loaned me the copy and said "Don't judge a book totally by the subject matter." I knew what he was referring to as he and his long-time partner had just gotten back together after a rough patch in their lives. He said he totally related to the character of Zane Grady. I totally believed him. Frankly I never expected to love these two characters..or for that matter the series thus far, as much as I have. It was a shot in the dark of something different. It isn't all sex as I suspected it would be... although there is plenty of that...but I was surprised how well the crime parts of it are written...how easy the story comes together and how much sense it all makes. He keeps feeding me books...I keep visiting with Ty and Zane. We are all happy campers. ( )

CUED by the station jingle, the lights came up on the television newscast set, highlighting a slim, pleasant-faced black woman in a white blouse and green suit jacket sitting at the desk and tall, smiling man wearing a charcoal gray suit.
