Within each of the four gospels there is a foundational spirit, a spirituality of the gospels. That is to say, each gospel contains rich images and values central to the Vision of the person of Jesus' and to the path toward spiritual transformation in his image. Basic beginner's book exploring the Gospels as a way to encounter Christ. Christian spirituality is defined as human personal/interpersonal integration, meaning and direction. This is done as a community within the wider cultural community. The inner-self is the only area where each person can live a spirituality of openness to the materially poor in hopes of eventually transforming the culture itself. For Hartin, the Gospels are seen as a spiritual vision which, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, are more or less embodied by willing disciples of Jesus. Index, Bibliography, Notes. ( )
