Apunta't a LibraryThing per saber si aquest llibre et pot agradar. No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. I had serious thoughts about actually READING a book about Batman. Batman is something you watch in movies, comic books, or television ... not a book? Still it works. With Batman being a cerebral character, it's fascinating to read his thoughts instead of reading his thoughts in a cartoon bubble. This book delves into Batman's parents. Apparently, they are not the fine upstanding model citizens everyone thought they were .... While reading this book I felt that there was too much everything. The crazy people were too crazy. The rich people were too snobbish and blind. Batman was too paranoid. And yet, after finishing and thinking back on it I cannot come up with a better way of handling the story. The crazy people only seem too crazy because fragmented and false memories really do leave people making no sense. And maybe rich people really are snobs and blind to the world beyond their money. And Batman being paranoid is not a new theme and why wouldn't it just get worse as he gets older?! Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
When the Batman begins to investigate the events surrounding his parents' murder, he will also uncover the darkest secrets of his family's past. As the DC Universe's millionaire playboy journeys into the dark recesses of his own past, his is a journey that could spell the end for everything he holds dear--and the end of the hero he has become: the Batman. This story pulls the curtains back and shows us the story of Bruce Wayne's father, Thomas. The past comes back and hits Bruce/Batman like a ton of bricks.
Some have said that the Alfred/Bruce relationship was of Bruce putting down Alfred. I would have to disagree and say that I took it as Bruce was feeling like Alfred was still treating him like he was a child. But I feel that in the end Alfred is more of a father to Bruce then his real Dad and would do anything for him.
We get to see a bunch of nemesis of Batman in this. I will not name names as I think they were meant as surprises. This book stars off fast and I believe that is keeps its pace throughout. I was thoroughly entertained. The ending was tough and somewhat brutal at least to me. If you like Batman I believe you will enjoy this. I hope there is more Batman books in the future ( )
