the style of this book just didn't really appeal to me. i'm sure that it does to some people but i read it and when i got to the end, i was left seriously wanting. it was very short and seemed almost poetic in form a lot of times. ( )

This is a strange book. I've never read anything quite like it. The writing style is extremely different and I found myself both loving and hating it. I'm not sure I can say I absolutely loved this book on the other hand I can't quite bring myself to say I hated it either. It was extremely addictive and intriguing and I flew through the pages. Still there was something off putting about it but I can't quite pinpoint what that was. As such I had trouble rating it and clicked each one back and forth trying to decide. I finally settled on three stars. ( )

Another book that surprised me. When I got it on Amazon thanks to a friend's recommendation, I must admit that I didn't think I was going to find it a big deal. While The 19 Dragons didn't completely change my life, it gave me a fresh view of a short book with an interesting story. The author managed to put over 20 characters in a single book without lacking character development or leaving loose ends. Of course, given the depth of the story overall, it feels like it could have had at least 300 pages. On the other hand, the fact that this book does not go over 150 pages makes it fun to read. The story is easy to understand and the format somewhat following The House of Leaves gives it a different experience. ( )

This is the second S. M. Reine book I’ve read and it just fills me with such warm, fuzzy feelings. The plot was so intriguing that I couldn’t put it down, even after I was supposed to turn off electronic devices on the plane (I don’t condone this behavior but I’m just awful, please don’t do this it’s actually quite bad).

The story was action packed and fast paced. The writing was so artistic that it just flowed so nicely. I wish it didn’t have to end. It was such a nice feeling to read this type of writing style. Words can’t express how wonderful it was to read this book.

There was a twist at the end that I was not expecting at all and the ending was sad, but heart warming. It’s hard to explain, just read the book. ( )

The style in which this book was written turned me off almost immediately. It just wasn't for me. ( )
