I'd love to know how many times she uses the word "blood" in this collection, but I'm too lazy to go back and count. Birthing is probably the strongest theme here, but she is not sentimental. In fact Macari is pretty tough. She also writes about the Garden of Eden, love, sex, death, and... washing dishes. I enjoyed the collection. ( ) Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
Gloryland re-examines motherhood, death, birth, and rebirth, drawing on religious and secular creation myths to enact a feminist religion. Bold, rich lyrics reveal the grand in the domestic, claiming the physical as an essential part of the -female experience, declaring that tolive fully in the bodyis the truest, bravest, and most glorious form of worship.
