Nobody blends violence - realized or threatened - and humor better than Martin McDonagh. In his first play set in the U.S. a man named Carmichael is searching for his hand chopped off 27 years earlier. A scheming hand-dealing couple and a hotel clerk get involved as does Carmichael's mother (by telephone). You've got to love a play where "case with dozens of severed human hands" is on the property list. ( )
