An undercover newspaper reporter in her early 20s is determined to go from "geek" to "chic" when she's sent back to high school to learn about today's teens.
The story, it has to be said, is somewhat unlikely. The script a bit tired; while it was undoubtedly light, there weren't any laugh-aloud moments, and although the climax was a bit unexpected, the ending was (happily) predictable, if unlikely. Nevertheless, this is a nicely done film, with some good acting, and some rather shocking insights into American high schools, albeit (I assume) rather caricatured.
Still, despite its flaws, we enjoyed this film. I would recommend it for anyone who likes this genre, and wants a fluffy hour and a half that's a bit different from the average rom-com. ( )
A reporter poses as a highschool student and refuses to expose a predator teacher.
1/4 (Bad).
This movie is remarkably gross. Every adult character in it should end up in jail. Meanwhile, it doesn't even bother to do anything entertaining beyond simply putting Drew Barrymore on screen (which, to be fair, is enough for me to give the movie one point out of four). ( )
