Another good read. This is an interesting world with interesting characters that quickly grow on you. I can't wait to see what happens next and to see how far these purists will go. ( )

Basically a carbon copy of book #1.

The world building is still lacking with no new information provided on the background of the Amoveo race. As mentioned in my review of the previous book, the Amoveo simply have too many abilities, all of which have been done before and none of the characters are unique in any way.

The writing is excessively descriptive and often repetitious while the suspense plot is underdeveloped with a mediocre villain whose motivation is unclear - is it revenge for a perceived rejection or a purist ideology?

The notion that Kerry feels excruciating pain at being touched has tremendous potential both for the plot and the romance. Unfortunately, it contributes nothing to either. Not only is there zero chemistry between the leads, but there is no real basis to their romance other than the fact that they are fated mates.

In terms of characterization, Kerry accepts every new piece of unusual information without question, which makes her appear naive and gullible. Dante might be sexy but other than that has nothing going for him. His possessive alpha act is not believable and he does not live up to the animal traits implied by his alternate form - surely a fox is cunning enough to stay out of obvious traps?

All in all, weak world building, a lackluster romance and an inadequate suspense plot. I’m simply not interested enough in the world or the characters to continue with the series. ( )

Sexy Hot Fox and a beautiful panther Oh My

Sara. Humphrey doesn't disappoint in the 2nd book of The Amoveo legend.. Dante, the sexy Fox, and Kerry, the beautiful panther, embark on their own journey to find each other. Throw in some photo shoots, bell. boy ,and a grouchy old man, oh and a weird woman with revenge, and you have a most interesting story. Loved it!!!/No spoilers here, you'll just have to read for yourself. I bet you'll love it too.

Kerry, a successful model, has a reputation as being an ice queen and a germa-phobe. But the reality is that she feels intense pain when her skin touches another and along with it comes a whole lot of info about that person. She feels incredibly lonely as the only person she can touch and not feel pain is her best friend, Samantha.

Dante knows Kerry is his mate as soon as he sees her and is thankfully hired by one of his best friends as Kerry’s bodyguard on a photo shoot. Everyone else knows she’s a hybrid Amoveo but her. And he’s got his work cut out for him, especially since someone calling themselves The Punisher has targeted Kerry.

Set in New Orleans, what I really love about this book and the series so far is the intimacy experienced by the couple through telepathy. The loving thoughts and feelings are expressed so much stronger than via verbal words and actions and the reader is taken along for the ride. Kerry especially touched me emotionally since she’d been so lonely and experiencing her emotions as she realizes the comfort she feels in Dante’s touch was special for me. And Dante makes a really great partner for Kerry.

I find it somewhat surprising that the Amoveo, while all predators, don’t come across as threatening at all unless their mates are threatened or someone is hitting on them. Also love the different types of shifters in this series.

This story does include many of the people we first met in Unleashed and I found the reveal of The Punisher to be surprising. I found the story interesting and it moves along at a pretty good clip.

Can’t wait to read the next book and learn more about William, who has now been in the first two books. ( )
