This book is a tie-in to the Walt Disney black and white short, based on Jonathan Swift's satire 'Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. In Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of Several Ships' better known simply as 'Gulliver's Travels'.

The 1934 short went a bit off-track towards the end, when it introduced a giant six legged spider version of Black Pete, from what I remember!
The Wonderful World of Reading book follows Swift's original story much closer, and is better for it.

This is yet another excellent bedtime story from the Grolier Book Club. ( )
