A great book in taking care of family and others. Even when the grandson does something wrong the grandfather doesn't take advantage of the situation he owns up to it. Great book to show the right thing isn't always the easiest. ( )

This was another book that I wasn't sure about. Very stereotypical. The main point of the story was not easy to find until the end of the book so for the most part, you thought you knew what it was about until the end. This book can be read at ages 4-7.

This book would be appropriate for primary elementary grades. It is a story about a little boy who's grandfather recently immigrated to America to live with him and his mother. The boy must help his grandfather get a job but soon get's them both into trouble when he lies about his grandfathers skills. This story has a good moral at the end about the importance of honesty and hardwork.

I felt this book presented the grandfather as incompetent and left myself as the reader wanted more from his character. ( )

This story is quite interesting in the way that the narration was told and the story plot. This story is about a young Mexican boy and his grandfather and it tells a story of working hard and learning lessons and how to recover from making hard decisions. This was interesting and I would not strongly recommend this book. I would not advertise this because it was written in a way that made the grandfather seem incompetent and the story of working hard was told me in a somber way rather than celebrating hard work. ( )

I did not love this book. I did not particularly enjoy the way the author made the grandpa seem incompetent just because he could not speak English. It just seemed very stereotypical and borderline offensive. I think it would of been different if someone who was actually from the Mexican culture wrote this story but since this is all coming from a white author I just did not like how she perceived the characters.
