( ) I liked this book for two reasons. First, the illustrations enhance the story. The bright and vivid illustrations enhance the story by showing the character's emotions throughout the text. Because the text does not explicitly say how the characters are feeling, the illustrations enhance the text by adding this extra layer of detail. The illustrations are also detailed and help the audience visualize these personified animals celebrating. Because the audience may have difficulty imaging animals talking and interacting, the illustrations provide the audience with an image to rely on as they participate in the Earth Day celebration. The illustrations enhance the story by providing the audience with a visual of the story as it progresses. I also liked this book because it pushes readers to think about tough issues and broadens perspectives. The book is about saving the Earth and the importance of recycling and other green acts to preserve the Earth. The book focuses on this and forces readers to think about their personal lifestyles and the changes that they can make to help "make the world a prettier place" (p. 6). By having readers reflect on their lives, the author broadens the audience's perspective about Earth Day. The author also has the audience think about ways to improve their lifestyles to become more green. Overall, the big idea of this book is to celebrate Earth and to preserve it. The book also talks about the importance of friendship and working together to accomplish a goal. I really liked this book for many reasons. The story shows the readers about a monkey that is not believed by his friends that his birthday is on the same day as Earth Day. The monkey keeps telling them that it is but they keep telling him that it isn’t until the monkey’s mom comes out with a birthday cake. The illustrations enhance the story by showing the monkey do all of these projects to help clean up the Earth. It shows kids different ways to help make the Earth a better place to live. The language of this book has a rhyme to it. The monkey always says, “Deep within the jungle green, the silliest monkey ever seen, swung upon a branch and said, “It’s not Earth Day! Its my birthday!”” However, every friend that the monkey says it to says that it is Earth Day and not his birthday. The characters in the book are essential to the story. The readers that read this book can enjoy it by looking at the different animals. All young readers love animals so by having them as the main characters makes the readers want to read the book. The big idea of the story is to show young readers that Earth Day is important but it is also important to remember your friend’s birthday. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
When Monkey proclaims that it is his birthday, all the other jungle animals protest, claiming instead that it is Earth Day and telling Monkey what he should do to honor this special day. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
