Cap No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. The audio narration of this book is fantastic. The story itself is one of the weirdest I've read. Definitely a fun journey into a world/book I may not have picked up without a recommendation. Worth the read, definitely worth the listen! What an unexpectedly awesome book! Totally caught off-guard by how much I enjoyed what I thought was just going to be a no-brain little time filler. This one will be on my mind for awhile Hard to classify this one. Nate has a boring, dead-end job, but finds a super low rent apartment in L.A. After moving in, he notices lots of strange things and organizes his neighbors to investigate, eventually discovering the landmark building itself is much more than it seems. I found the pace of the book uneven, but I greatly admire Peter Clines' imagination, integrating technology, cloak and dagger, and dimensional intersections in an unconventional good versus evil story. Not my favorite Peter Clines book. I loved the first half of the book. The tension of the mystery of the apartment building was really good. However, the second half left me shaking my head. It just got a little too weird for my tastes. In addition, it needed more character development. I rounded up to four on my rating since I thought it was better than a three. I would like to give this one 3.5. Despite my mediocre rating, I am still a fan of Clines and will read more by him. He does have a fabulous imagination. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

"A wholly original story that weaves together mystery and the apocalypse like a finely tuned band." --Evan Roy, Bricks of the Dead Padlocked doors. Strange light fixtures. Mutant cockroaches. There are some odd things about Nate's new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn't perfect, it's livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don't nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela's apartment. And Tim's. And Veek's. Because every room in this old Los Angeles brownstone has a mystery or two. Mysteries that stretch back over a hundred years. Some of them are in plain sight. Some are behind locked doors. And all together these mysteries could mean the end of Nate and his friends. Or the end of everything... "Picture Lost in an apartment building with a cast of ordinary people, some comedy, plenty of charm, and the stakes being the end of the world, and you'd come close to capturing what makes 14 tick." --Craig DeLouie, author of The Infection and The Killing Floor No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
