Two books in one here Secrets in Four Corners by Debra Webb and Profile Durango by Carla Cassidy. Both stories share a somewhat similar theme, that of love won and secrets hidden and love lost to maybe find again. Well it's a romance, the maybe isn't so given here. The first story brings Sherrif Patrick Martinez up close and personal to Sabrina (Bree) Hunter; a woman working as part of a homicide task force for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. There have been some deaths and she's going to help solve them. When an FBI agent turns up dead too things become very complicated. Bree and Patrick had a relationship years ago, he doesn't know that there was a child as a result of it, their son is starting to ask questions, and he's not taking Bree's evasions any more. As the investigation progresses they have to admit how they feel for each other.

In Profile Durango FBI agent Tom Ryan has to face up to the mistakes he made when he left Callista (Callie) MacBride, the head of the Kenner County Crime Unit several years ago. He's now detailed to watch over her and keep her safe. Can she keep her heart safe and the secrets she's holding close.

I must admit I preferred the Webb over the Cassidy story, both weren't bad but I didn't connect as well with the characters in the second story. This is part of an ongoing serial, the Kenner County stories. ( )
