I have such fond childhood memories of my mama reading this book to me and my little siblings. :) ( ) Roxanne decided to go to the beach, but her car was not working. Roxanne begins to explore the different types of transportation she could take to beach, but they must find one that will allow them to take all of their stuff, even their turtle. In the end a nice farmer with a house and cart comes by and gives Roxanne and all of her beach gear a ride to the beach. Ages:5-8 source: Pierce College Library This is a fantastic book to read in a classroom. The problem is posed as to how Roxanne will get to the beach with a list of things needing to go with her. With each page she is faced with something that prevents her from going to the beach and/or taking everything with her. This is great for intereactive reading, and allows the children to use their cognitive skills to see what things cannot go with her, and also provides them with the opportunity to find/brainstorm solutions. The reader is asked to guess what Roxanne must leave behind (ball, umbrella, book, turtle, or baby) as she tries various means of transportation to get to the beach. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
