This book lists types of collections, providing each with basic general background and a single DIY idea. Some of the ideas could work fairly well at least until the first child wanders by (vintage kitchen tins on a small stepladder painted by the collector - a few paint drips in various colours, we are advised, add authenticity) and other ideas are frankly bizarre (display your collection of silverware by tying it to the edge of a table amidst a trimming of upholstery fringe), but there is the occasional brilliant touch (the perfect crocheted shelf edging to set off a collection of dresden china figurines) and plenty of eye candy for those who appreciate vintage items and assemblages.
