He's thinking about his Christmas list, anticipating holiday parties, and puzzling over one very mysterious gift -- a sparkly box sitting on the mantel above the fireplace. In the midst of the festivities, Sam and his family participate in various acts of kindness to others. On Christmas morning, when Sam finally opens the Sparkle Box, he finds slips of paper that record the family's good deeds -- the Sparkle Box is the family's gift to Jesus. This book can be used as an Advent "project" at home or in school to focus on the real meaning of Christmas in a fun way. This is a great Christmas story for kids and adults. This is a perfect way to give gifts to Jesus. I hope this makes many people want to make Sparkle boxes. This was well written and illustrated. This should become a Christmas classic. It made me cry twice so far. I received this book from Worthy publishing for a fair and honest opinion. A beautiful message, beautifully told and illustrated, The Sparkle Box is targeted for children 4 and up. It tells the story of Sam and his family at Christmas. Amidst the holiday decorations and presents, Sam spies a glittery box nestled on the mantle. His parents explain that the Sparkle Box is a special gift that they will fill throughout the season and open when it is filled. Through the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, Sam sees glimpses of people in need and the way his family joins in giving. The Sparkle Box is the perfect addition to your family’s Christmas reading. The illustrations are beautiful, the story told in a simple and clear manner and the message of giving is told practically for children to understand. I love that the book includes a Sparkle Box so that families can join in the tradition of giving in the name of Jesus. Great for your children or that special child in your life. Highly Recommended.
