I expected more from Livie. I don't like how they portrayed her. Her personality and actions were lacking everywhere. She wasn't the same person and the doctor and her sister decided that she needed to change. Not just change but be exactly like her sister. And Ash... his story felt forced. I didn't care about his background and what he was going through. I did like Ash and Livie together at times but Livie was being such a horrible person to Connor. But who cares about Connor right? Not his girlfriend and not his best friend. Incredible. 4.5 stars “How do you figure out the right way to live your life?” There’s a long pause. So long that I check the screen of my cell phone to see if the call is still connected. “Trial and error, Livie. That’s the only way that I know of.” We met both Kacey and Livie in the first book of this series. We followed Kacey through her breakdown and healing. We learned what these two sisters endured that led them to the life they were living. First was Kacey’s story. Now it’s time for Livie’s story of moving on… I was a little apprehensive… I wasn’t sure where this book was going to take me. I wasn’t sure if it would live up to the first book. In some ways it did and some ways it didn’t (not necessarily a bad thing). This story is nothing like the first one; it’s a story of it’s own. It picks up kind of where the last one ended but on Livie’s life after Kacey heals… We all know Ashotn. The “bad boy” who enjoys the company of beautiful women, rarely the same one. Frat boy. Party boy. Never falls in love. Now enter Livie… Now we have a story like many others? No, not completely. This story may have the cliché undertone, but has a storyline of its own. I can’t lie. I was torn with who to root for. The gorgeous, nice Irishman or the unbelievably hot bad boy. It is an internal struggle I think everyone will feel for quite some time in this book. Livie sure feels it. She knows what doors she should step through, but her heart wants another. Things are never easy when love is knocking on the door. “Because you’re not a one-night girl, Irish.” Leaning in to place a kiss on my jawline, he whispers, “You’re my forever girl.” If it were only that easy!! Get ready for a rollercoaster. You will be up. You will be down. You will laugh. You will cry. KA Tucker delivers all of the right mixture of emotions in this book that you will be sad that it ends. How does it end? Everyone dies, duh!! HAHA. Obviously that isn’t true. However, you will not regret picking this book up, but you will regret ever having to put it down! In this follow-up novel to the top-selling Ten Tiny Breaths, Livie Cleary faces a new set of challenges as she navigates freshman year at Princeton, wild parties, and the gorgeous rowing team captain who is everything she doesn't want in a guy, or so she thinks... Livie Cleary has always been Miss Perfect--but she soon learns that perfection isn't all it's cracked up to be, and finding out who she really is might mean making some mistakes along the way. "Make me proud." These were the last words Livie's father ever spoke to her. In the seven years since her parents' tragic death, Livie has done her best to live up to this standard through her every choice, word, and action, while looking after her sister with strength and maturity. But with college right around the corner, unexpected challenges will test her resilience--and her heart. Livie walks into Princeton with a solid plan, and she's dead set on delivering on it: Rock her classes; set herself up for medical school; and meet a good, respectable guy to someday marry. Her plan definitely does not include Jell-O shots; a lovable, party animal roommate she can't say "no" to; or Ashton, the arrogant--and extremely attractive--captain of the men's rowing team who makes Livie's usually nonexistent temper flare. Worse, he's best friends and roommates with Connor, who happens to fit Livie's criteria perfectly. So why does she keep thinking about Ashton? As Livie finds herself facing mediocre grades, career aspirations she no longer thinks she can handle, and feelings for Ashton that she shouldn't have, she's forced to let go of her last promise to her father, and, with it, the only identity she's ever known.
