A used textbook that covers both the mechanics and inspiration for creative writing. Useful addition to resource books for writing mechanics. Contained notes about a collage, written by my daughter, with a reply from her instructor. This makes the book family history, so to speak. I was forced to buy this one for an advanced composition course. As it turns out, the book was preparation for the many English majors who were going to become teachers. At heart, the book is only really useful for those who are thoroughly terrified of writing, young enough to need instruction in such tasks as brainstorming and outlining and the very basics of rhetoric, or dedicated enough to instruct those who fall in the first two categories. This text coddles the reader step-by-step through the writing process: I'm OK, you're OK. For the target audience, it covers the basics exceptionally well. Those in search of guidance on rhetoric will want to search elsewhere. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
This text provides a workshop approach to the teaching of composition. It addresses students as writers, challenging them to develop their skills by writing often, by exploring their writing processes, and by sharing their writing with others. The flexible workshops allow an instructor to organize and orient their course individually, and the book integrates readings - both student and professional - throughout. It also contains more than 100 writing assignments. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
