Well, thank baby jesus that's over. There's only so much angst and navel-gazing I can take in one swoop. Emma has no personality beyond being a victim. She lives in a world full of people who exist either to prop her up or to abuse her. Why do all of these cardboard secondary characters just love her so much? When Emma's not acting like a selfish assclown, she's taking advantage of their kindnesses. Why do they continue being so nice to her? Sure, she had a super shitty childhood/teenhood but everyone treats her like she shits solid gold. It's bizarre. And why do the abusers hate her so much? It's on the same level as being mad at your wet dishtowel.

I wish I could abandon books more easily. My reading life would be a lot more peaceful. ( )

I have really enjoyed this series, but I do feel it was a little too long. This could have been wrapped up within two books. Book three was my least favorite in the series. I just felt it was too long and was repetitive.

Emma has now been off in college and is suffering from her demons. She starts to spiral as she has not dealt with her past. She meets a new guys and things seem to be looking up for her. Then more horrible things happen, and Emma beings to spiral even more. Enter Evan! I was actually disappointed that Evan came back in to the picture. It was pretty predictable, but I was personally team Cole. I feel Evan was a trigger for Emma. He enabled her and I feel they were actually not good for each other. I feel Emma used Evan as a way to hold on her hurt and being with him would not allow her to move on.

I ended up not loving the finale, but enjoyed the series overall. ( )

I awaited this book for over a year. I was frustrated and impatient. Then, release day came. I read it eagerly. So worth the wait!
In the first two books of this series we were left with our jaws hanging low with some serious cliffhangers and questions. We needed more and we didn’t want to wait! Well, Rebecca made us wait… Then she made us wait some more for the first part of the book. Dang her! I was getting mad and frustrated. Then, just as I was warming to the idea of where the book was heading… BAM! I was rewarded with what I was wanting… What was I wanting? I can’t tell you, in fear that you have yet to read this book. You will see though. Oh you will see…
Poor Emma… Her internal struggles to keep the past behind her eat at her everyday! She tries so hard to move forward and pretend to be normal and not heart broken or lost. She has vowed to not love another. We all know that just can’t happen, or can it?

“I’m not sure what I deserve. But I know I’m not doing a very good job living.”

Emma is reminded in this book that living isn’t just breathing. Breathing is just a sign of living. It takes her being out of breath to grab back on to living again!
Oh Evan, you wooed us in the first two books. You showed us your love for Emma had no bounds. However, Emma just couldn’t see it! She blamed herself for all the wrong around her. Her self-loathing didn’t just leave her empty, but it left you the same way.

“I’m not supposed to live without you. And you’re not supposed to live without me. We’re in this life together. Without each other, we’re not really living.”

The question we all have going into this book… Can Emma and Evan find their way back together. Even more importantly, can they pick up the pieces of their shattered lives and move forward?

“Maybe it’s because once you put all the pieces together, you end up with something beautiful.”

This book is a never-ending roller coaster. You want one thing, but you get another. Just when you adjust to the direction the book is going in, it then shifts again. You may get whiplash from all of the bumps and turns, but you will love every second of it! ( )
