( ) Martin lived in a small and quiet neighborhood. No one in his community really cared for change. People thought that change brought germs, and messiness. Martin had a brand new red bike, but because he was afraid of change he never road his nice new bike and continued to always ride his old red one. One day when Martin was riding back to his house, he had found a box that was addressed to Mr. Flux. Martin brought the box to the house to give to Mr. Flux. By Martin act of delivering this box. A whole new world of change would occur. Mr. Flux taught Martin to not be afraid of change, that not all change is bad. While Mr. Flux taught Martin not to fear change Martin was giving Mr. Flux art lesson. This short story would be great to read to students in that I would want to make sure that my students are fully aware that change does not always have to be a bad thing. A tongue-in-cheek tale loosely inspired by the 1960s Fluxus art movement finds Martin and his neighbors confronting their fears about change when an eccentric newcomer demonstrates how change can be big or little or even small enough to fit in a not-so-scary box.
