S'està carregant… James Herriot's Yorkshire (1979)de James Herriot

I enjoyed seeing pictures of the places that feature so prominently in Herriot's books, but his writing just wasn't as enjoyable in this one. A short tour through the actual countryside the beloved vet traveled with some explanations on how he changed things for his stories. Pictures are included & not bad. It is beautiful countryside. I love the way James Herriot makes you feel as if you are there with him seeing things and hearing the people you meet along the way. A lovely book to read. Lots of beautiful photos of Yorkshire. It makes me wish I could travel all over that area. Great to see photos of what I've read about in his stories. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

In this book, James Herriot shares the beauty of his adopted Yorkshire in all its seasons. The moors and dales, farmhouse, ruined abbeys and castles, market towns, country villages and windy beaches are all featured. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |

The political map provided in the book was a great help in locating sites. However, except for rivers, there were no geographical details, which would have made placement of areas easier.
All in all, this is a fond remembrance of a most beautiful part of England. (
