A little too cutesy and shallow for me. I wanted characters deeper than just "gorgeous" and a plot that has some twisting and turning beyond just the Tam Lin legends. ( )

Confession: I don't really like Beauty and the Beast. I have not since I was young, but oh, this book.

Personally, I see very few similarities to the story so many have heard before. Love, a human girl, a beast. That's pretty much it.

This was violent and bloody and oh so good. It has been a while since a book has gripped me like this and I can't believe that I almost didn't want to read it. ( )

Engaging. About halfway through the book, I started keeping an eye out for the second book in the series. Luckily, I found it and have it by my bedside. Development of the characters was about on track, not rushed but not delayed. I recommend picking up a copy. ( )

I wasn't sure I would like it, but once I started I just wanted to keep reading. The characters stayed in my head! I really liked the characters. Has a great story. This book is one that will have you thinking about it when you're not reading, and wanting to get back to reading it.
As with most all books, you can guess how it's going to end and be right but without knowing and it happening in a way you don't completely expect. I knew the more I read how it was going to happen but still really enjoyed it!
Looking forward to the next in the series. I bought the whole series set about halfway through this book.
I see why this series is talked about and loved so much. I would recommend!! ( )
