Computing (focusing on Alan Turing and John von Neumann), quanta (Richard Feynman and John Bell), and quantum computing (David Deutsch), mostly simplified and demathematized to a quite general level of readership. I found the chapter on possible quantum-computer technologies (NMR, SQUIDs, quantum dots, ion traps) to be harder to digest. There's no mention at all, by the way, of the extant D-Wave machines.

I was doing OK until he tried to explain the Many Worlds Interpretation with reference to quantum computing - then my brain exploded. Will have to read his Multiverse book and try this one again. ( )
