Peace at last for Maryse, Sabine, & Mildred, that is until Maryse's cousin Jayden comes to town as the new Game Warden.... Not only does Helena return, but Jayden can see & hear Helena as well which puts everyone on alert as Helena only shows up when someone is in trouble (in extreme danger of losing their life). Jayden is called to the scene of a bunch of men grabbing baggies of 100 dollar bills out of the bayou from the shrimper that has capsized..... In order to stop the grab (as they are all ignoring her orders), she pulls out her 9mm and shoots the remaining baggies of money so that they all sink to the bottom of the bayou.... While at the money grabbing fest she encounter Mudbug Sheriff Colt Bertrand, a bossy male who tries to take over the case but is (of course) extremely attracted to Jayden..... There is a grizzly murder of an old shrimper, the finding of a key & the attempted murder of Jayden..... with smart-mouthed Helena keeping Jayden company the entire time. The only thing different was the romance didn't come to a head with the usual pairing up as it had in the last 3 books. The story wasn't great, I didn't figure out who the bad-guy was, but it was entertaining, fast & easy reading. Yes, I 'll read the next book in the series, after I get the Library to purchase it!
