I learned that Eleanor was a very sad and shy child who later became someone who reached out and touch so many lives. Some interesting facts about Elanor Roosevelt is her uncle, Theodore Roosevelt was president of the United States. She married Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 17, 1905. Her and her husband had six children together. Franklin was president from 1932-1945 and Elanor was first lady of the United States. Her motto was, "Tomorrow is now." From 1945-1953 she served as a delegate to the United Nations. From 1946-1951 she served as chairperson of the United Nations Human Rights Commission. Eleanor died at the age of 78. The details in the book were accurate. The author wrote this book in chronological order. ( ![]() Picture book Genre: Biography Age: Primary (2-5 grade) Review: This book is about the life of Eleanor Roosevelt. We follow her childhood to her marriage to her First Ladyship to her death. During this time we see a lot of world events such as WW2 and the convening of the United Nations. This is a biography because we follow the true life events of one particular person, Eleanor Roosevelt. Because it was written by another person it is not considered and autobiography. Use: 1) Talk about Eleanor Roosevelt and the other Roosevelts in her family 2) Talk about the world events such as WW2 and the attack on Pearl Harbor Ill. Media: pencil drawing? This book is a picture book that tells us the important events and the history of Eleanor Roosevelt's life. I really like that this biography is written as a story of her life, rather than just facts laid out. It was interesting to learn more about Eleanor Roosevelt. I would have never known that she married her distant cousin. I really liked learning that even after being the first lady, she still tended to the poor as she did before. I think this is a great biography for children. It is easy to read and very interesting. I also like that it gives important dates at the end of the story. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
