The writing is okay, but there isn't enough in the short story to really tempt me to go and buy the next one. ( )

The Dining Club is more than the name implies. It is a place to discover how far you are willing to challenge your sensuality and discover/expand your sexual horizon. This is erotica at its best.

Our story follows Grace as she discovers David, the man she has fallen in love with, cannot commit to his love for her, unless she is able to discover and participate in the kind of lovemaking that makes him complete. The Dining Club provides a series of tests which will expose Grace to BDSM. If she is able to complete the 4 trials involved, David will be able to finally fully commit to her.

The trials, although not extreme, left me wondering how far could someone go to prove love and commitment. Through this serial novel, we come to know our characters in some depth. This serial novel evolves through 8 different insttallments. We ourselves are placed in the trials with Grace, making us wonder how we ourselves would survive each test.

This story is brilliantly written, with full character development and a great plot line. The ending is good but leaves me wondering if the author is considering a spinoff novel or novels. There are characters in this novel I would love to read more about! ( )

ARC provided by NetGalley for an honest review.

Grace has meet her match in the bedroom with David. He completes and satisfies her every need. She realizes that in their relationship of six months, that she loves him. Grace seeks Davids feelings and finds him to be distant. She does not want to rock the boat, with her concerns with their relationship. She chooses not to express her feelings because she does not want to lose her sexual interaction with David.

David is hiding a piece of himself from Grace. He has waited to show her this hidden side until now. He is eager to take her to the Dining Club.

In book one, "Desire", we are left with whether Grace will learn about what David likes, sexually or will she walk out of his life.

The cliffhanger makes you eager to read book two. ( )

Desire is part one of a series called The Dining Club which is made up of eight separate novellas. This story was sexy no question, but didn’t have the length needed to get me hooked. I’m not sure if this prevented me from connecting with David and Grace, or if I just didn’t like them. I thought it was kind of sleazy of him to invite her to the super secret members only club for freaky sexy times without at least a subtle heads up. Something like "hey, pack your nice panties because strangers might see them."

Grace seemed like a strong independent woman who turned into a wuss in David’s presence. Maybe had the novella had a little more meat I would have a different POV. At $1.99 an installment (for a less than a 50 page novella) I doubt I’ll read more.

It looks like this may be turned into a full length novel that will be published in January 2014. I truly think this will read better as a full length novel.

Note to self: Words like length and meat read super pervy when reviewing erotica. Check thesaurus for alternate wording next time. ( )

Being that the description of this book makes reference to authors like E.L. James and Sylvia Day, I almost didn’t want to touch this one. There aren’t many things that’ll turn me off from a book as much as taking two “huge” names in a given genre, and throwing it as an attention grabber in a description. Despite this, I was intrigued by the part of the description that was actually about the book, and I’m glad I did.

From reading enough excerpts of Fifty Shades, I’m confident in saying that this book is not comparable to that series. Anderson has a very well written and well thought out story to it. There’s not much to this part of the full story, but the author was able to get a good start to the development of the characters and what the overall story will be.

The main female character, Grace, is set up nicely and I liked that she’s a strong woman, but has a softer side that plays well with the male lead, David. I have a feeling that as I read more parts of The Dining Club series that these characters will only become more complex, as will the story.

My only real complaint about this is simple: It’s part one of (so far I can see) eight. It’s not a story one or book one. It’s just part one, and it ends with you wanting more. This isn’t normally an issue for me, as for the most part this does wrap up the conflict of this section, but it also cuts off at a point just before more action will start. I’ll probably be reading part two in the next day or so because of the urge to keep going, but I have a feeling that I’d rather have had this as one complete collection instead of as a serial novel.
