Kai and Kurt Winters had a perfect marriage filled with love and laughter, honesty and sharing. They knew they would be in love forever. They are tested in a heartbreaking series of events, that breaks Kai. The only thing she knows to do is turn away. Her decision breaks Kurt.
The love in this story is almost palpable, the emotions wrenching, but there is no one who can be blamed, or who is at fault. The meeting in a little cabin in the woods arranged by Anne Winters , Kurt's Mom, is her way of trying to help them find their way back to each other, or move on. The setting is magical it's Christmas, and their isolated by a snow storm. Finally the words of pain, loss, and emptiness are said .
I can't convey how much this novel moved me. Ms. Florand's ability to make you feel every high and low of this story is amazing. It will make you cry, sigh, and hope with all your heart that their love will save them.
