Can't wait to read the others as they come available...! ( ![]() **Review written for an originally posted on my blog, Book Bliss.I received a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.** Review: 5 stars General: **may have a spoiler not comprehendible just from the book blurb**This book has it all. Steamy romance, a quirky plot line, an original concept and humor to match. I’ve been on a highland dragon kick as of late – who wouldn’t mix that sexy Scottish accent with the beauty of a dragon?- and they just seem to get better as I go. I don’t think I’ve seen a split personality both so well done as well as Lachlan and his other half, Kheladin. First it’s rare and so wonderful that they are one being and not merely the soul of a creature mixed with a man. That was great. But they were distinct beings and it was easy to love them and their offerings to the story. I was fearful of a threesome situation when I realized what was occurring…spoilers… The writing itself was wonderfully done. Small bits of quirk and humor were slipped in as Lachlan learned our world and it was entertaining. I love when comedy is expertly woven into the general parts of a story. The plot moved forward at a nice pace and the connections made in the story were believable and easy to immerse into the world created. Characters: Maggie: Maggie was fun and loveable if not a little bit cliche. Bad childhood + stubborn = a survivor. Still a very well written character full of power and spunk- I’m just starting to wish for ad different formula in a heroine because when the heroine is human the formula is limited. She had wonderful chemistry with Lachlan and I do think she was a great match. Lachlan: Lachlan was adorable and sexy all at once. Watching as he contemplated things in this century was great. He reminded me a little of a prince charming type hero. Very pure and loyal, lacking the dark streak so many heros had and I found it refreshing. Plus he could heat the pages of this book like crazy! Kheladin: Kheladin was the quirkiness in the story. He was playful at moments that needed it and truly entertaining “side” character. However without his light heartedness I wonder if Lachlan could have been as heroic as he was so I find him essential and not just a random choice. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

A dragon shifter stirs and wakens in a cave beneath Inverness, deep in the Scottish Highlands. The cave¿s the same and his hoard intact, yet something¿s badly amiss. Determined to set whatever¿s gone wrong to rights, Lachlan Moncrieffe ventures above ground¿and wishes he hadn¿t. His castle¿s gone, replaced by ungainly row houses. Men aren¿t wearing plaids, and women scarcely wear anything at all, particularly the woman who accosts him with unseemly banter. What manner of wench is she to dress so provocatively? In Inverness for a year on a psychiatry fellowship, Dr. Maggie Hibbins watches an oddly dressed man pick his way out of a heather and gorse thicket. Even though it runs counter to her better judgment, she teases him about his strange attire. He looks so lost¿and so unbelievably, knock-out gorgeous ¿she takes a chance and stands him a meal. Lachlan¿s shock when he picks up a local newspaper at a pub is so palpable, Maggie jumps in with both feet. She knew something was off, but the hard-to-accept truth bashes gaping holes in her equilibrium. He looks odd, sounds odd, acts odd because he¿s a refugee from another era. Her half-baked seduction scheme takes a hike, but her carefully constructed life is still about to change forever. Born of powerful witches, Maggie runs headlong into the myth and magic that are her birthright. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
