This is definitely a strange book. The illustrations are really interesting. In a way its kinda fun to find out just how crazy Aunt Oopsie Daisy is, however there is something dark about this story. Several of the illustrations (especially the ones describing Aunt Oopsie's eyes) are just downright frightening. Yet, the rhymes are clever and this keeps the story moving.

Again, my complaint would be that the subject is somewhat dark. Overall, the book is rescued by its big idea which hints that we must accept people for what they are; warts and all. From that perspective this is a clever read. ( )
