When it is Figgy’s turn to hit with the stick, he looses the stick. Jefferson Bear needs his stick to scratch his back, but he cannot find it. He asks Figgy if he saw the stick, but Figgy lies and says that he has not seen it. Figgy feels guilty and wants to find his friend’s stick. Figgy finds the stick, but it now belongs to Buncle the raccoon. Buncle says that if Figgy gives him some honey in return he would give up the stick. Figgy climbs the three to get honey, but he gets stuck and the bees stung him. He yells for help and his friend Jefferson Bear comes to his help. Figgy gives the honey to Buncle and brings back Jefferson’s stick and tells the whole truth about the stick. Figgy believes that Jefferson Bear will not forgive him, but his friend proves him wrong. ( ) This book is a good example of a fantasy because the reader believes that the bear and fox are friends where the fox looses the tickling stick but in reality bears and foxes are not friends and do not communicate with one another in English. This story is also a good example of plot where there is a self vs. self conflict. The fox has a conflict with himself about weather or not to tell the bear that he was the one who lost the bear’s stick. Eventually the fox tells the bear and the conflict is resolved and they remain friends. Age appropriate: primary. Media: colored pencils. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
