Sugar Hill's poetic and rhythmic text gives a tour of historical Harlem. This story has a star studded cast of historical figures like Miles Davis, Lena Horne, Thurgood Marshall among others. This story offers insight into the impact that one neighborhood had on the nation. I really loved the illustrations and the short biographical blurbs in this story. It was perfect the perfect read aloud for my lesson the Harlem Renaissance. (
