Although this book took me longer to read, it was not because of the book itself. The plot was a lot slower in this book, but it is to be expected since this is meant to be book 2 of a rather long series. The characters were just as good as ever. I love Paige and Warden, and I loved the loyalty of Nick, Eliza and Danica in regards to Paige. As per usual, Samantha Shannon does not fail with making me hate Jaxon, but that’s a good thing because he’s awful. I’m excited to continue the series. Shannon, Samantha. The Mime Order. Bone Season No. 2. Bloomsbury, 2015. When I reviewed The Bone Season several years ago, I gave it a dismissive review that said it was aimed at Twilight and Hunger Games fans. But on reading The Mime Order, the first sequel, I think Shannon may be aiming at a Brandon Sanderson or J. K. Rowling audience as well. The series promises to run to seven volumes and is published by Bloomsbury, of Harry Potter publishing fame. In The Mime Order, the action moves from the Oxford prison for clairvoyants back to the London clairvoyant underworld where Paige engages in a power struggle with her old boss, Jaxon Hall. I was hoping for more back story on the alien invasion in the 19th century or some insight into the Scion power structure. But no. To refresh my memory, I took a look back at The Bone Season and got a giggle out of the Warden telling Paige that he was going to drink her blood but he was not a vampire because he didn’t enjoy it. There is no humor like unintentional humor. The Mime Order would have profited from a bit of humor, unintentional or otherwise. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

HTML:In the New York Times bestselling second novel in the epic Bone Season series, Paige Mahoney may have broken out of prison, but neither the government nor her prison guards are going to let her escape so easily. It is a dark time for clairvoyants in London. Scion, the ruling government, is in league with the Rephaim, an extraordinarily powerful, otherworldly race that intends to make humans its slaves. Paige Mahoney may have succeeded in leading a mass break-out from the brutal camp, Sheol I, where she and other clairvoyants were systematically imprisoned, but she hasn't truly escaped. As Scion turns its all-seeing eye on page, and the ruthless leader of the Rephaim sets out in pursuit, Paige must find safety in a London underworld and a clairvoyant community that is beginning to crumble.
