I really enjoy reading about Aroostine. She definitely has an interesting background and it was really interesting seeing how she blends her Native American culture with her experiences being raised by the Higgins family. I also liked reading about her relationship with Joe and look forward to reading more about it in the rest of the series. It is kind of hard to not try and compare Aroostine to Sasha but I felt like Aroostine was just as interesting and likeable character as Sasha.
This felt a bit slow in the beginning but the more that I read the more it seemed to pick up and the more I became hooked into the story. There were a few minor mistakes in the book, just a wrong word here and there, but I didn't feel that that distracted from the story. I also had a hard time connecting with Franklin. I don't know if it was just because he wasn't as strong as Aroostine or something else.
I really enjoyed the action at the end and also enjoyed where Aroostine and Joe's relationship was at the end. I look forward to reading more of this series and would recommend this series to those who enjoy the Sasha McCandless series. ( )
