So the big twist is basically stalking and abusing and almost killing someone is okay because if you give your virginity to the entire reason for your horrible scars and trauma, he's still the one. The purity culture goes so strong that not even the law can stop it!

While I got the version without the sexual assault scene(the one she edited out so it's 'more romantic', there was too much of "lemme guess the colour of your panties" creepiness and also having sex with "just like a sister" and dead family member mishandling. There was so many scenes of abuse, stalking, SA, and attempted murder she didn't edit out. She might as well have faded to black on the SA instead of removing it entirely, that's how bad it looks. She put a blanket over a rotting corpse of a story.

From an editor's perspective, the rapid POV jump and some of these sentences... Who left them in?! Someone should have made most of this more coherent. The editor got drunk and said no thank you. It's okay, editor, I would do that too.

I felt uncomfortable whenever Ben was a creep, and the fact him being a creep was nudging on a romance confused me. Fallon must be colourblind, she's missed the dozen red flags!

This is not a romance, this is torture porn horror with an air of thriller but then it winds right back to a romance for no reason. It's so toxic and abusive I hope nobody wishes they were either Ben or Fallon!

1 star, I wanted the reveal to make this not a romance and a horror, but somehow it remained a romance??? Why the fuck?

E anche questa volta TragedyHoover non si smentisce! Nessuno come lei riesce a creare una tale catena di tragedie capaci di annientare chiunque.
Fallon è una giovanissima e promettente attrice che si ritrova con la carriera stroncata sul nascere per gli esiti di un terribile incendio che le ha lasciato gran parte del corpo devastato dalle cicatrici. Ben è un giovane scrittore che cerca di dare un senso alla sua vita e che nasconde un tremendo segreto. I due si conosceranno il 9 novembre, una data speciale per entrambi, e sarà un incontro talmente particolare da unirli così tanto che decideranno di ritrovarsi lo stesso giorno, nello stesso posto, per i futuri 5 anni. Fallon, nel frattempo, cercherà di dare una svolta alla sua vita a New York dove si sta per trasferire, mentre Ben, sempre a Los Angeles, comincerà a scrivere un romanzo su loro due. Cinque anni, cinque incontri non sempre semplici e altre tragedie in agguato che segneranno ancora pesantemente le loro vite, sino all’ultimo incontro che scioglierà finalmente anche tutti i segreti accuratamente tenuti nascosti per tutto questo tempo.
Una scrittura che coinvolge e trascina, ma di certo la storia, nel complesso, non è facile da digerire. A volte mi domando se non ci sia una vena di sadismo, neanche tanto nascosta in verità, che spinga l’autrice a creare situazioni drammatiche oltre ogni dire. Sono troppe alla fine le tragedie condensate sui due poveri e molto giovani personaggi per riuscire a farmi apprezzare del tutto il libro che, in alcuni punti sembra voler calcare la mano solo per agguantare facili consensi.
4 stelle ma proprio tirate per i capelli. ( )

First book CH book I started that really got me into reading. Before I read this book I had read the twilight series and books assigned from school but never had a love for reading. This book was fun and exciting and I couldn’t wait to keep going. Definitely a quick read I finished in 2 days and knew I wanted to read more CH ( )
