When the boy reaches the sea his boat becomes a book and characters emerge taking him on an adventure of reading. When the boy reaches the shore all becomes normal. The poem is accompanied by beautiful illustrations that pair perfectly with the nautical motif. This poem offers a great symbolism about the power of reading and adventure. However, my expectations were let down. The illustrations were beautiful, the beginning of the poem had a hook, but the climax never occurred. The poem also came to a quick abrupt ending with the boy landing on shore. I just wanted more descriptive reading adventures and a better ending. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
"Voyage is an illustrated poem of fantasy, imagination, and magical transformations. A young boy searching the beach for treasure comes across a sailboat and pushes out to sea. Magically the boat becomes a book, and the little boy finds himself living out its adventure, pirate ship and all, far away in the fantastic world of words...until at last, as evening calms the winds, he returns to shore, pulling the boat behind him onto the sand."--Publisher's website. Pros: Beautiful illustrations take kids on a sea adventure. The theme of finding adventure through reading is also lovely.
