This book is about a boy and his grandma that go to serve at a soup kitchen after church. This story walks us through the journey of the boy and finding beautiful things wherever you are. Even if it's on a dirty street. This book would be good to talk about kindness, serving others, and culture. ( ![]() This book is recommended for primary students. This book depicts CJ and his nana as they take the bus from church to market street. In my future classroom, this book could be used for painting a positive picture of both African American culture and public transportation. Last Stop on Market Street is a story that encourages children to appreciate what they have. Throughout the story, the little boy, CJ, asks his nana why the don't have a car, why they have to wait for the rain, why the man on the bus can't see, and how he'd like to have a guitar just like the man had. With each response, his nana teaches him an important lesson. After they get off the bus, they go to the soup kitchen to serve others, CJ realizes how good he has it and how good it feels to help others. Nana and her positive outlook on life is a true inspiration for all. C.J.'s Nana always puts the best slant on everything and seems to bring out the best in those around her - but she's telling C.J. that what he wants isn't as important, valid, but also a bit Stockholm Syndrome-ish. AMAZING book that shows recognition of hidden gems in typical stereotypes . The boy had personal development and sense of the real word aside from different classmates economic status. I would have this in library. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
